To read a barcode, a scan-enabled app is required. The device contains the DataWedge app that allows the user to enable the scanner to decode barcode data and display the barcode content.
To scan with the DS4608:
Ensure that an app is open on the device and a text field is in focus (text cursor in the text field).
Pick up the scanner. The aiming dot displays.
Point the scanner at a barcode.
Ensure the aiming dot is centered on the barcode.
Press and hold the trigger until either:
The scanner reads the barcode. The scanner beeps, the LED flashes, and the aiming dot turns off.
The scanner does not read the barcode and the aiming dot turns off.
