It is possible to charge the scanner when connected to USB with BC 1.2. This is supported only in HID mode and not for SSI over USB when the scanner is paired with a cradle.
On the back of the VC8300, remove the dust cover.
Connect the scanner cable USB connector to either USB port. The scanner beeps.

Place the cable into the strain relief.
Replace the dust cover.
Ensure that the scanner is in HID mode. Refer to the Product Reference Guide and scan the HID Keyboard barcode or perform a factory reset.
