When you load media, the printer needs information about the media before it can print for optimal operation. Your printer automatically determines the type of media (web/gap, black mark/notch, or continuous) and measures media characteristics. However, if the media type you are loading is different from the previous media you loaded in terms of type, size, or batch, you must calibrate the new media using this procedure.
After you complete initial calibration to a specific media, you do NOT have to perform additional calibrations each time the media is replaced, provided the media is the same type and batch. The printer automatically measures the media to adjust for small changes in the media characteristics while printing.
Make sure the media is loaded properly and the top cover of the printer is closed.
