Printer Memory Management and Related Status Reports
To help you manage printer resources, the printer supports a variety of format commands. They are very similar to the old DOS commands like DIR (directory listing) and DEL (delete file) and they enable you to manage memory, transfer objects between memory areas (such as import and export), object naming, and printing various status reports.
The most common reports are available for printing using the Zebra Setup Utilities and ZebraDesigner Windows driver.
It is optimal to issue a single command for processing in this format for ease of reuse.
Several of the commands that help import and export objects, and manage and report on memory are control (
~
) commands. They do not need have to be within a format (form) and will be processed immediately upon receipt by the printer whether they are in a format or not.
