Split Groups

PTT group calls support up to 250 users only. You won't be able to make a store-wide PTT call when it has more than 250 associates, all of whom have been added to a single group.
Get help from Zebra support to split the group, putting the first 248 members in the primary group and the remaining in a secondary group.
Prerequisites:
  • Create primary and secondary groups in the PTT PRO server. The script does not create groups.
  • List (only) the primary groups in the CSV file.
  • Add members to the primary group only after enabling this configuration. Manually remove group members from the PTT Pro portal if already added.

Provide the group name along with the department suffix while you split large groups:

The secondary group exceeding this number will result in an error with no further additions.
whitelist_users
Separate the whitelisted user names with semicolons. Whitelisting prevents deletion of users from the PTT Pro server when not included in the CSV file.
Turn-off split groups precaution
Before you turn off split groups, delete the secondary group from the PTT Pro Portal so the script will not add all the members to the primary group when it runs again.
