User Assumptions on Importing CSV

The following list identifies the dependencies and assumptions of the environment:
  • The user csv file includes fields for both Profile Manager and Zebra PTT Pro. If both systems are being populated, then the import file must be populated with data for both services for each user.
  • Importing data into PTT Pro can take more time because of the complex record interaction into the PTT Pro server for processes such as group creation.
  • Creating Profile Manager users and assigning user roles requires that the roles and role levels exist in Profile Manager prior to the import.
    • If using role levels, the user import file does not include the role information. If both exist, the role level is applied to the user and the roles information is discarded.
  • The data entry restrictions of shared data elements, like User Name, between Profile Manager and Zebra PTT Pro may be different. User names must meet the lowest common denominator for entry. This is detailed in the table that follows.
  • The attribute transformations must be defined before the import job is executed.
Any site referenced in the user file must be included in the Site Map File. Failure to include in the Site map creates ambiguous error messages during the import process.
