What To Do If You Forget to Install the Printer Drivers First

  1. Follow the instructions in Pre-install Windows Printer Drivers to download and install the drivers on your laptop.
  2. From the
    Windows
    menu, open the
    Control Panel
    .
  3. Click
    Devices and Printers
    .
    In this example, the ZTC ZT320-203dpi ZPL is an incorrectly installed Zebra printer.
    You can verify your printer's model number and print resolution (for example, 203dpi) using the test print of the Configuration Report label from the top of the report. (See Printing the Printer Configuration Report (CANCEL Self Test).)
  4. Right-click on the icon representing the device, then select
    Properties
    .

    Hardware
    tab.
  6. Select the printer in the
    Device Functions
    list, then click
    Properties
    .

  7. Click
    Change settings
    , then click the
    Driver
    tab.
  8. Click
    Update Driver
    .
  9. Click
    Browse my computer for driver software
    .
  10. Click
    Browse...
    and navigate to the
    Downloads
    folder.
  11. Click
    OK
    to select the folder.
  12. Click
    Next
    .
The printer is updated with the correct drivers.
