This command sets the friendly name, which is used during service discovery.
For printers with Protected Mode enabled, you cannot modify this setting from the front panel. For more information, refer to the Zebra Link-OS PrintSecure Printer Administration Guide.
For changes to take effect, you must power cycle the printer or issue the
device.reset
 command (see
Connection > Networks > Reset Network
).
If you do not set a friendly name, it will default to the printer serial number.
