Overview

This guide provides information on integrating and implementing FTM Wi-Fi Locationing on Zebra devices. This feature enables users to locate devices using Wi-Fi. Zebra devices now support FTM Wi-Fi Locationing on the 6 GHz and the legacy Wi-Fi bands of 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz in the latest updates. It is important to note that legacy bands in Enterprise WLANs can present challenges to FTM. These ecosystems set the APs channel bandwidths to 20 or 40 MHz in legacy bands, which are not optimal for FTM. In addition, the 6 GHz band provides an 80 MHz channel bandwidth, making it ideal for FTM. Therefore, when the FTM is enabled on APs and devices, the runtime Location operations are utilized on the 6 GHz/80 MHz band, resulting in accurate and efficient results.
