Creating Website Shortcuts

To create a new shortcut for a website, enter its address and shortcut name in the associated form fields. Next, a web shortcut opens in the current default browser.
Depending on how many browsers are installed on the device, Workstation Connect presents the following options:
  • If only one browser is present, the web shortcut opens in that browser.
  • If multiple browsers are installed, and one is set to be the default, the web shortcut opens in the default browser.
  • If multiple browsers are installed, and none are set to be the default, the device user is prompted to choose the browser to open the web shortcut.
When adding a website address, provide the protocol specification in lowercase (for example, surf://, http:// or https://). The website shortcut does not function properly if the protocol is provided in upper case.
Shortcuts are saved in /enterprise/usr/zwc/ after export.
