This section provides the assembly process for the base unit.
Obtain the four feet, either from the Cabinet Disassembly process or from the cabinet package.
Fix the drawer brackets through the base into the feet using the M10 x 25 round head screws. Ensure the brackets are correctly oriented and the rubber slider buffers to the rear. Note the base plate has two holes along the rear edge.
Do not tighten completely the screws; this is done when the drawer is fitted.
Slide the drawer base onto the two runners. The front of the drawer base has two semi-circular notches (1). When the drawer is properly engaged, it should easily slide in and out with the end stop preventing the drawer from coming off the base.
Tighten the four M10 screws after the drawer is sliding correctly. If necessary, loosen and re-tighten the screws.
Link the left and right drawer sides to the drawer back. The left and right drawer sides are handed, and the front of each side has a 90° fold, facing inward. The fold of the rear panel is uppermost and points to the rear. With the sides and back correctly oriented, link the sides to the back and place all three parts into the drawer base.
With the three parts in position in the drawer base, the left and right sides can be swung out until they engage with the fixed screws in the base, three on each side. Fix the side panels in place using three M3 dome headed screws on each side.
Attached the side panels using two M6 x 16 countersunk screws, two on each side.
Do not fully tighten these screws.
Place the top panel in position and fix it in place using four M6 x 16 countersunk screws, two on each side. Ensure the top panel is correctly orientated and the sloping edge is fitted to the rear.
Do not fully tighten these screws.
Fit the rear panel in place using two M6 x 10 flange headed screws on the top angled face and two M6 x 16 countersunk screws in the base.
The last two screws are more accessible to fit if the whole unit is placed on its front, but be careful as the drawer will try and slide out as the unit is tilted up.
Tightened the screws fitted in the previous steps.
Assemble the front panel before fitting into the drawer.
Attach the lock and the handle before fitting the front panel to the drawer.
Before attaching the lock, determine which direction the lock will turn when fitted. Insert the key and turn it left or right. The lock should be open when turned anti-clockwise and locked when turned clockwise.
The lock might need to be partially dismantled to pass it through the hole in the front panel. To do this, undo the screw holding the metal cam and remove it.
Pass the barrel of the lock through the hole in the front panel, making sure that the washer is on the front of the panel.
The rear of the front panel has a recess into which the lock nut is tightened.
Reattach the cam and the fixing screw after tightening.
Attach the handle using two thread forming screws. Do not overtighten these screws.
Slide the drawer out and attach the front panel to the drawer using four M6 x 10 flange head screws and four M6 barrel nuts.
This completes the assembly of the base unit.
All that remains is to position it and mount the cabinet on top.
