Replacing Transfer Ribbon

If ribbon runs out during a print job, the printer's indicator lights and stays red until you load fresh ribbon.
Keep printer power ON when loading new ribbon or media. Turning printer power OFF in the middle of a print job will result in the job being lost.
  1. Open the top cover
  2. Cut the used ribbon to prepare to remove the cores.
  3. Load an empty ribbon core and new ribbon roll. See Loading Transfer Ribbon.
Use ONLY ribbon cores that have intact notches. These notches should have square corners and should be in good condition. Ribbon cores with damaged notches may impact print output if used with your printer. For optimal results, purchase replacement ribbon cores from zebra.com/supplies.
  4. Close the top cover.
  5. If the printer was in the middle of a print job when ribbon ran out, press
    FEED
    to resume the job.
