EPL Line Mode

EPL Line Mode

Your direct thermal printer supports EPL line mode printing.
EPL Line Mode printing mode was designed to be command-compatible with the the legacy EPL1 programming language. Your printer supports line mode printing.
This mode of printing is ideal for basic retail (point of sale), shipping, inventory, workflow control, and general labeling. EPL printers with Line Mode are versatile and capable of printing a wide range of media and barcodes.
Line Mode printing prints only single lines at the height of the largest element present in the line of text and data (barcode, text, a logo, or simple vertical lines). Being a limited mode of printing, it does not allow for fine element placement, overlapping elements, and horizontal (ladder) barcodes.
  • Your printer's default mode of printing is Page Mode.
  • Enter line mode by sending the printer the
    OEPL1
EPL command to the printer. See the EPL Programming Guide.
  • Exit Line Mode by sending the
    escOEPL2
Line Mode command o the printer. See the EPL Programming Guide.
  • When Line Mode is active, ZPL and EPL (EPL2) Page Mode programming will be processed as Line Mode programming and data.
  • When the default ZPL and EPL (EPL2) Page Mode active, Line Mode programming will be processed as ZPL and/or EPL programming and data.
  • Verify printer programming modes by printing out a printer configuration label. See Printing a Test (Printer Configuration) Label.
