The VC8300 supports scanners that use the Human Interface Device (HID), Simple Serial Interface (SSI) and Symbol Native API (SNAPI) protocols. In HID mode, the scanner sends data to the VC8300 like entering characters on a keyboard. In SSI mode, the scanner sends data to the VC8300 in packets which can be ASCII data or as part of a larger message. In SNAPI mode, the scanner and host communicate, allowing for more complex data transfer.
