Rename the APK file.
You must rename the APK file before installing the file on the mobile device and KIOSK. The APK file downloaded from Zebra support follows a naming convention that includes the version number of the relevant APK. For example, an APK provided in the download is named
ams-device-2.3.16.apk
. Rename the file to
AmsDevice.apk
before the file is pushed to the device or Mobile Device Management (MDM) before installation.
Perform network configuration and validation.
Ensure you meet the ZAMS network requirements so that the KIOSK can communicate to the Cloud portal and the mobile devices can communicate with the KIOSK.
ZAMS limitations and recommendations:
*Each KIOSK is limited to connecting 300 devices (mobile computers).
*Each KIOSK is limited to syncing 5000 registered users, combining both Global and Site Users.
*Versions prior to 24.3.0 support 100 devices and 500 registered users per KIOSK.
KIOSK and DEVICE must be on the same version, between the current major release (N) and no older than N-2.

Before installing the AMS KIOSK app from the ZAMS release version 24.2.0 or later, uninstall both AMS Core and AMS UI.
