PTT Button Configuration and Function

PTT Button Configuration and Function

The
General
Settings
screen provides the
Push to Talk Toggle
option.
  • If enabled, the PTT button appears yellow. The user presses once to talk and presses again to stop.
  • If not enabled, the PTT button appears blue. The user must push and hold the PTT button to talk and release to stop talking.
    The user can use the
    Push-To-Talk (PTT)
button on Zebra devices to perform the following functions:
  • Initiate a PTT call to the default callee.
  • Initiate a PTT call to a selected contract or group.
  • Exit a PTT call.
  • Invoke voice commands
Several of these functions require the administrator to give the user the necessary permissions and the user to configure the device.
  • Default callee requires permission from the administrator of the Zebra PTT Pro Management Portal and the user selects a
    default callee
    in the Default Callee setting.
  • Functions that require the user to double press the PTT button require that the
    Enable Double Key Press Feature
    is enabled.
When both voice commands and the default callee options are enabled, voice commands work only when the PTT Pro application is in the background.
See the following table for the interaction between PTT button functions.
