Heater Control

The Heater Control application provides information about the sensors and heater applicable to the freezer device. To open the Heater Control, swipe up from the bottom of the Home screen and touch Heater Control App Icon.
The Heater Control app is only applicable to freezer configurations.
The scanner exit window heater ensures optimum scanner performance in freezer applications.
The Status tab displays the following details:
  • Temperature
    • Display
    • Vent
    • Scanner Window
    • Scanner Bay.
  • Humidity
    • Vent
  • Heater
    • Touch Panel Heater (default - disabled). This option should always be enabled for the heater to function properly. Disable this option only if you are performing debugging activities on the heater system. (A11 only)
      The Touch Panel Heater turns off when the battery level goes below 30% and the device is not charging.
    • Scanner Window (default - enabled). This option should always be enabled for the heater to function properly. Disable this option only if you are performing debugging activities on the heater system.
The Advanced tab displays the following details:
  • In the
    Heater
    area, tap to disable Scanner Window Heater. (default - enabled).
  • In the
    Advanced
    area, tap to enable Logging. Logging allows you to log data for the heating system (heaters and sensors). The data resides in the
    /sdcard/Android/data/com.symbol.heatercontrolserv/files/HeaterLogs/
    location in a .csv file on the device.
  • Click
    TEST HEATER
    to perform a diagnostic test on the heating system.
Heater tests must be performed in an ambient environment with a temperature of less than +30° C (86° F).
After the tests are complete, the results screen displays.
