Installing a microSD Card

The microSD card slot provides secondary non-volatile storage. The slot is located under the keypad module. For more information, refer to the documentation provided with the card, and follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for use. It is strongly recommended that, prior to use, you format the microSD card on the device.
Use a long, thin Torx T8 screwdriver with a minimum length of 38 mm (1.5 in.) and a maximum diameter of 4.6 mm (3/16 in.) to remove and replace the screws on the device.
Follow proper electrostatic discharge (ESD) precautions to avoid damaging the microSD card. Proper ESD precautions include but are not limited to, working on an ESD mat and ensuring that the operator is properly grounded.
  1. Power off the device.
  2. Remove the battery
  3. Use the screwdriver to remove the two screws from inside the battery slot.
  4. Turn the device over so that the keypad is visible.
  5. Use the screwdriver to remove the two keypad assembly screws from the top of the keypad.
  6. Lift the keypad from the device to expose the microSD card holder.
  7. Slide the microSD card holder to the Open position.
  8. Raise the microSD card holder.
  9. Insert the microSD card into the card holder, ensuring that the card slides into the holding tabs on each side.
  10. Close the microSD card holder and slide it to the Lock position.
  11. Align the keypad along the bottom ridge of the device, and then lay it flat.
  12. Use the screwdriver to secure the keypad to the device using the two screws. Torque screws to 5.8 kgf-cm (5.0 lbf-in).
  13. Turn the device over.
  14. Use the screwdriver to replace the two screws inside the battery slot and torque to 4.6 kgf-cm (4.0 lbf-in).
  15. Insert the battery.
  16. Press and hold

    to power on the device.
