The PVM enables a simpler way of managing device IDs, for both third-party devices and Zebra devices. Provided with the site ID, the PVM provisions of the PTT Pro device table in that site’s PTT Pro device table. In addition, the PVM removes device IDs from the PTT Pro device table if the device is not checked-in. The parameter controlling this removal defaults to 30 days.
Automatic provisioning requires the latest release of PTT Pro Android or iOS.
Customers using activation code activation do not need to provision devices into the PTT Pro device table and therefore do not benefit from or require automatic provisioning.
Customers using the shared device model are not required to use automatic provisioning but are then required to manually provision the PTT Pro device table.
