WFC Provisioning Manager Administration Overview

As a component in the WFC Solution Architecture, the WFC Provisioning Manager provides two main functions:
  • As a crucial component in WFC Voice Client licensing, the Provisioning Manager allows the administrator to display WFC Voice licenses and the devices to which they are assigned, as well as obsoletes the devices with licenses, which releases the licenses.
WFC Voice Client Administrator Guide for Licensing
    describes licensing in more detail.
  • The Provisioning Manager allows bootstrapping, which is a method to download configuration information to the various WFC clients; bootstrapping can simplify configuration by eliminating the need to download configuration files directly to the device. The administrator can use the Provisioning Manager to associate the configuration snippets with tokens. The tokens are then used at the device to retrieve the configuration information.
In support of WFC Voice Licensing and Bootstrapping, Provisioning Manager offers the following administrative functions:
  • A dashboard that provides an overview of licensing and token requests.
  • Reports, which provide a history of device requests as well as an event log.
The administrator can use these functions to monitor the activity of the Provisioning Manager.
