The PVM enables a simpler way of managing device IDs, for both third-party devices and Zebra devices. Provided with the device ID and site ID, the PVM provisions of the PTT Pro device table for that site. In addition, the PVM removes device IDs from the PTT Pro device table if the device is not checked-in. The parameter controlling this removal defaults to 30 days.
The customers who activate with the activation codes do not need to provision devices into the PTT Pro device table and therefore do not benefit from or require automatic provisioning.
Customers using the shared device model are not required to use automatic provisioning but are then required to manually provision the PTT Pro device table.
