Free-Form Image Capture allows an image of any form (not restricted to a document or label) to be captured by either the built-in internal imager or camera, with the option to highlight and/or decode any barcode present.
The capture process is initiated with the first press of a device trigger (hard or soft), which activates a live preview session on the screen. During this preview, the system automatically detects and visually highlights any barcodes within the viewfinder to confirm they have been identified. A second trigger press then captures the image and displays it. If the Decode and Highlight Barcodes option is enabled, this second action also processes and decodes the data from all highlighted barcodes, returning both the captured image and the corresponding decoded data as the final output.
