Free-Form OCR enables the ability to process documents or labels quickly and capture data with higher accuracy. Free-Form OCR automatically captures data by recognizing text in an image and extracting it as digital text. During capture, the Region of Interest (ROI) frame is visible in the preview screen, allowing the user to adjust it to enclose the target text before data capture.
Free-Form OCR segments capture text into 3 components:
Block
- a contiguous set of text lines, such as a paragraph or column
Line
- a contiguous set of words on the same axis or line, such as a line of text
Element
- a contiguous set of alphanumeric characters ("word") on the same axis in most
The image resolution is 1920 x 1080 for images captured from the camera.
