Flashing your firmware helps keep the device operating at its best performance. The firmware Version section displays both your current firmware version and the firmware build ID.
Never disconnect the device during the firmware update procedure.
Download the latest firmware from Zebra Support and upload the firmware to the Android Host device.
Turn on the WS101 device.
Open the Zebra BT Comms Utility Service on the Android Host device.
Tap
Settings
to navigate to the
Device Settings
section.
Tap
Other Device Settings.
Tap
Firmware Update
.
Select one of the two methods for updating firmware: Tap
Select Upgrade File
or
Check for Updates Online
.
Select Upgrade File:
Choose the downloaded firmware file and confirm. Wait for the update to complete and do not power off or disconnect the device during updating.
Check for Updates Online:
Select the update if one is available. Wait for the update to complete and do not power off or disconnect the device during updating. This option is not currently supported.
Once the firmware is successfully transferred to the WS101 device, the UI asks if the firmware should be installed now or later or if the firmware install should be aborted. Restart the device if prompted.

to reboot the WS101 device.

Later
to defer the install to the next time the WS101 device is rebooted.
