What To Do If You Forget to Install the Printer Drivers First

If you plug your Zebra printer into a power source and printer power is turned ON before installing the drivers, the printer displays as an Unspecified device on your host computer. Use this procedure to make sure the printer is identifiable by name on your host device.

  1. From the
    Windows
    menu, open the
    Control Panel
    .
  2. Click
    Devices and Printers
    .
    In this example, the ZTC ZT320-203dpi ZPL is an incorrectly installed Zebra printer.
  3. Right-click on the icon representing the device, then select
    Properties
    .

    Hardware
    tab.
  5. Select the printer in the
    Device Functions
    list, and then click
    Properties

  6. Click
    Change settings
    and then click the
    Driver
    tab.
  7. Click
    Update Driver
    .
  8. Click
    Browse my computer for driver software
    .
  9. Click
    Browse
    ... and navigate to the
    Downloads
    folder.
  10. Click
    OK
    to select the folder.
  11. Click
    Next
    .
    The device is updated with the correct drivers.
