Obsoleting Devices

Obsoleting a device means deleting the device from the Zebra PTT Pro database if the device is registered for Zebra PTT Pro and releasing any voice licenses in use. As before, if a device is active in the Extension Manager, it must be obsoleted in the Extension Manager. Otherwise, the device can be deleted by the Provisioning Manager. The scenarios are described below:

Obsoleting Procedure
The device has activated only the voice client; no EXM
Obsolete in PVM. The device is marked inactive in PVM, and voice licenses are released.
The device has been activated only in the Voice Client; EXM is in use.
Obsolete in EXM. The device is marked inactive in PVM and EXM, and voice licenses are released.
The device is registered for automatic provisioning for Zebra PTT Pro only.
Obsolete in PVM. The device is marked as inactive in PVM and deleted from the Zebra PTT Pro database.
The device has been activated in the Voice Client and registered for automated provisioning for PTT Pro, but there is no EXM.
Obsolete in PVM. The device is marked inactive in PVM, deleted from the Zebra PTT Pro database, and voice licenses are released.
The device has been activated in the Voice Client and registered for automated provisioning for Zebra PTT Pro; EXM is in use.
Obsolete in EXM. The device is marked inactive in PVM and EXM, deleted from the Zebra PTT Pro database, and voice licenses are released. If this device is obsolete in the PVM, the voice licenses in the EXM are not obsoleted and are released.
