Replacing an RFID Reader

Replacing an RFID Reader

The following describes how to replace an installed RFID reader with a new one, while retaining the original configuration.
The new RFID reader must be of the same type and model as the original.
  1. Run the
    Resonate Device Initializer
     utility to discover the new reader. Refer to Using Resonate Device Initializer in Device-Discovery Mode
  2. Navigate to
    Infrastructure
    Devices
     and take note of the original reader's serial number.
  3. Navigate to
    Infrastructure
    Discovered Devices
    .
  4. Select Device Settings
    Device Settings
    Replace
     at the far right of the new RFID reader's row.
    The
    Replace Device
     dialog opens.
  5. Click
    Replace
     to the right of the reader to replace.
    The original reader is replaced.
The
Infrastructure
Devices
 page displays the new reader with the same configuration as the original reader, and it no longer displays the original reader.
