Configuring Wired Connectivity Options and Power Failure Recovery Mode

Use this reference to assist in upgrading, reconfiguring, troubleshooting the printer; and setting the Power Failure Recovery Mode on the connectivity option cards.
The printhead becomes hot while printing. To protect from damaging the printhead and risk of personal injury, avoid touching the printhead. Only use the cleaning pen to perform printhead maintenance.
Installation Preparation
– No tools are needed for this procedure.
  • Disconnect the DC power plug from the rear of the printer.
  • Remove any interface cables and USB devices from the printer to protect you and the printer.
  • This will help avoid accidents and damage to the printer and you.

Accessing the Connectivity Module Card or Empty Slot

Open the module access door by pushing down on the top of the door with your fingertip. This releases the latch. Pull the door down and away from the printer.

Removing a Connectivity Module Card

The module cards have a hole punched into the edge of the module card to pull the card out. Use your fingers, a connected cable connector body, or a pointy-tipped object to pry the card out.

The Serial Port Module requires the use of fingers, a scribe, or a small flat-bladed screwdriver to pry the card out.

Setting the Power Failure Recovery Mode Jumper

The Power Failure Recovery Mode is only available on printers with a Printer Connectivity Module installed in the printer.
The Printer Connectivity Modules have a Power Failure Recovery jumper set to OFF. With the jumper set to ON, the printer will automatically Power ON when plugged into an active (ON) AC power source.
Move the AUTO (Power Failure Recovery Mode) jumper from the OFF position to the ON.
Shows the printer power-on reset jumper location.
1 – Default: Power Failure Recovery Mode is OFF
2 – Power Failure Recovery Mode is ON

Installing a Connectivity Module Card

Push the circuit card in slowly but firmly until the card is just past the inside lip of the access door.
Shows the printer power being removed.

Installing a Connectivity Module Door

Align the bottom of the door to the bottom lip of the module access opening. Swing the door up and snap the cover closed. The locking tabs hook to the base under the inserted module card.
