The tables below specify key and button descriptions and keypad alternate functions.

Key
Description
P1 (Program 1)
User programmable.
Scan (yellow)
Used in scanning applications, press to scan a barcode.
P2 (Program 2)
User programmable.
Scroll Keys/Volume keys
Moves up, down, left, or right from one item to another. Increases/decreases specified values. Increases volume when the up arrow with the orange function key is activated. Decreases volume when the down arrow with the orange function key is activated.
ESC
Produces the ESC function.
TAB
Produces the TAB function.
ALT
Produces the ALT function.
CTRL
Press and release the CTRL key to activate the keypad alternate CTRL functions. The icon appears in the Status bar. Press and release the CTRL key two times to return to the default keypad functions.
Numeric/Alpha/Special Function
Numeric, alpha or special function keys. Numeric by default. Produces a special function when the orange function key is activated. Produces alpha values when the orange alpha key is activated. In Alpha state, produces the lower case alphabetic characters on the key. Each key press produces the next alphabetic character in sequence. For example, press and release the alpha key and then press the 4 key once to produce the letter ‘g’; press and release the alpha key and then press the 4 key three times to produce the letter ‘i’. When the SHIFT key is pressed in Alpha state, the upper case alphabetic characters on the key are produced. For example, press and release the alpha key, press and hold the SHIFT key and then press the 4 key once to produce the letter ‘G’; press and release the alpha key, press and hold the SHIFT key and then press the 4 key three times to produce the letter ‘I’.The 0 key produces a space when the orange function key is activated.
Period/Comma
Produces a period for numeric entries and a comma for alpha entries by default.
Diamond
Provides a 3x3 matrix on the screen with nine additional symbols. With a single tap, you can select via touch input or the keyboard, 1-9 numerical keys. Double-tapping the Diamond key locks the 3x3 grid, and you can select multiple keys. Pressing the Diamond key a third time closes the 3x3 matrix.
BKSP
Backspace function by default.
Shift
Press and release the SHIFT key to activate the keypad alternate SHIFT functions. The icon appears on the Status bar. After pressing another key, the keypad returns to the non-shift state. Press and release the SHIFT key twice to enable the Shift Lock state. The icon appears in the status bar. Press and release the SHIFT key again to disable the Shift Lock state.
Enter
Executes a selected item or function.
F1 - F12
Special function keys by default.
Orange
Press the orange alpha key to access the alternate alpha characters (shown on the keypad in orange). The icon appears on the Status bar. Press and release the orange alpha key again to return to the default keypad functions.
Power (red)
Powers the mobile computer screen on and off (resume and suspend).
