Zebra has designed easy-to-add media options so you can modify your printer to fit your use cases.
Media handling options and access parts are secured to the printer using two Torx T10 screws located on the bottom of the printer. A Torx Allen type wrench is provided.
After the media handling options are installed, the printer will verify any hardware changes and configure the printer to support those options during a restart.
Note the following with regard to the media handling options:
These media options do not require removal for normal operation and cleaning.
As a general practice, remove or replace the Media Handling options only when it becomes necessary (such as for essential repairs).
The ZD Series Cutter options are self-cleaning by design and do not require internal cleaning with the use of Zebra media and supplies.
The printer will not detect Media Roll Core Size Adapter addition or changes.
The discharge of electrostatic energy that accumulates on the surface of the human body or other surfaces can damage or destroy the printhead and other electronic components used in this device. Observe static-safe procedures when working with the printhead or the electronic components such as circuit boards under the top cover.
