Setting up Windows to Printer Communication (Overview)

For supported Windows Operating systems (most common) with a Local (wired) connection:
  1. Download Zebra Setup Utilities from the Zebra website at zebra.com/zd410d-info.
  2. Run the Zebra Setup Utilities from your Download directory.
  3. Click
    Install New Printer
    and run the install wizard.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the printer drivers through the interface you will use to communicate with the printer. See Installing the Drivers.
  5. Turn printer power ON when instructed to do so and configure printer communications for your selected interface type.
  6. Use the Windows driver to print a
    Test Print
    to verify computer-to-printer communications. See Printing the Printer Configuration Report (CANCEL Self Test).
    Wait to turn printer power ON until the second phase of the printer setup. During printer driver installation, Zebra Setup Utilities will prompt you to switch printer power ON at the appropriate stage of the process. If you switched printer power on and connected your laptop or another device to the printer BEFORE installing the drivers, see What To Do If You Forget to Install the Printer Drivers First.
