Configuring Your Printer using the Connectivity Wizard

  1. If it is not already installed, install ZebraNet Bridge Enterprise on your computer.
    The install file can be downloaded from the Zebra website at zebra.com/software.
  2. Launch the ZebraNet Bridge Enterprise program. If you are prompted for a serial number, you may click
    Cancel
     and continue with the installation.
  3. From the Menu bar, select
    Tools
    Connectivity Wizard
    .
    The Connectivity Wizard opens.
  4. From the
    Choose Port
     list, select the port to which your printer is connected.
    • If you will save the file without sending it to the printer, select any available port.
    • If you select
      File
      , you will be asked to browse to the location of the file you want to save.
    • If you select a serial port, the serial configuration information appears below the
      Choose Port
       list. If necessary, change the serial communication settings to match your printer’s settings.
      If a port is in use by another device, it will not be included in the drop-down list.
  5. Click
    Next
    .
    The wizard prompts for the print server device to configure.
  6. Select
    Wireless
    , then click
    Next
    .
    The wizard prompts you for the type of printer you are using.
  7. Select the type of printer you are using and click
    Next
    .
    The wizard prompts you for the wireless IP information.
  8. Enable either the
    DHCP
     (dynamic) IP  or the
    Static
     IP option.
    • DHCP: Select
      DHCP
       and click
      Next
      .
    • Static (IP): Select
      Static
       to activate the
      IP Settings
       fields. Then enter the
      IP Address
      ,
      Default Gateway
      , and
      Subnet Mask
       for the wireless print server (which you can obtain from your network administrator). When done, click
      Next
      .
    The Wireless Settings window opens.
  9. Enter the
    ESSID
    .
    If you plan to use an ESSID and a passphrase, they must be set at your access point before completing these steps.
  10. From the dropdown menu, select the
    Security Mode
     you plan to use.
    None
    No security protocol selected.
    WEP 40-Bit or WEP 128-Bit
    In the WEP Options section of the window, enter the
    Authentication Type
    ,
    WEP Index
    ,
    Encryption Key Storage
    , and
    WEP Keys
    , then click
    Next
     and continue with the next step in this task.
    EAP-TLS, EAP-TTLS, EAP-FAST, or WPA-EAP-TLS
    In the EAP section of the window, if necessary, enter the
    Optional Private Key
    , then click
    Next
     and continue with the next step in this task.
    PEAP, LEAP, WPA-EAP-TTLS, WPA-PEAP, or WPA-LEAP
    In the General Security section of the window, enter the
    Security Username
     and
    Password
    , then click
    Next
     and continue with the next step in this task.
    WPA-PSK
    In the WPA section of the window, select the
    PSK Type
     and enter the
    PSK Name
    , then click
    Next
     and continue with the next step in this task.
    WPA-EAP-FAST
    In the
    General Security
     section of the window, enter the
    Security Username
     and
    Password
    , and in the EAP section of the window, if necessary, enter the
    Optional Private Key
    . Click
    Next
     and continue with the next step in this task.
    KERBEROS
    In the Kerberos Settings section of the window, enter the
    Kerebros User ID
    ,
    Kerebros Password
    ,
    Kerebros Realm
    , and
    Kerebros KDC
    . Then click
    Next
     and continue with the next step in this task.
    KERBEROS is NOT supported on Internal Wireless Plus print servers or radio cards.
  11. In the Wireless Settings window, click
    Advanced Options
    .
    The Advanced Wireless Settings window opens.
  12. Review the settings in the Advanced Wireless Settings window, change them as necessary, and click
    OK
    .
    The Wireless Settings window shows again.
  13. Click
    Next
    . Based on your selections in the Wireless Setup Wizard, the program writes the appropriate ZPL commands and displays them for your review. If you selected
    Tabletop/Desktop
    , a dialog box displays that will be similar to the one below.
  14. Decide if you will send the script immediately or save it for use at a later time. This information will be needed subsequently in the setup process.
