Many of the update methods discussed in this section require putting the device into Android Recovery mode. If you are unable to enter Android Recovery mode through
adb
commands, use the following steps to manually enter Android Recovery mode.
An HDMI display is required for using Recovery mode. The Recovery Menu will not appear on a display connected over DisplayPort.
When accessing recovery mode, avoid connecting a USB keyboard, as it will prevent using the programmable button.
Press and hold the power button until the menu appears.
Select
Power Off
.
Press the power button so the device boots.
Press and hold the programmable button until the device boots into the Recovery menu.
To navigate the Android Recovery menu, use the programmable button to navigate and the power button to select.
