Configuring the Device to Use a Static IP Address

By default, the device is configured to use Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) to assign an Internet protocol (IP) address when connecting to a wireless network.
  1. Go to
    Settings
    .
  2. Touch
    Network & Internet
    .
  3. On Android 11, touch
    Wi-Fi
    .
  4. On Android 13, touch
    Internet
    .
  5. Slide the Wi-Fi switch to the
    On
    position.
  6. In the network dialog box, select and touch a network.
  7. If configuring the connected network, touch to edit the network details and then touch the down arrow to hide the keyboard.
  8. Touch
    Advanced options
    .
  9. Touch
    IP settings
    and select
    Static
    .
  10. In the
    IP address
    text box, enter an IP address for the device.
  11. If required, in the
    Gateway
    text box, enter a gateway address for the device.
  12. If required, in the
    Network prefix length
    text box, enter the prefix length.
  13. If required, in the
    DNS 1
    text box, enter a Domain Name System (DNS) address.
  14. If required, in the
    DNS 2
    text box, enter a DNS address.
  15. If configuring the connected network, touch
    Save
    otherwise, touch
    Connect
    .
