Bits Per Pixel

Bits Per Pixel

Parameter #
303
(SSI # F0h 2Fh)
Use this parameter specifies the number of significant bits per pixel (BPP) to use when capturing an image.
  • 1 BPP - For a black and white image.
  • 4 BPP - Assigns 1 of 16 levels of grey to each pixel.
  • 8 BPP - Assigns 1 of 256 levels of grey to each pixel.
The imager ignores these settings for JPEG file formats, which support only 8 BPP. TIFF file formats support only 4 BPP and 8 BPP. If
1 BPP
is selected for TIFF, the 4 BPP option is applied.
