App Launch Orientation (Portrait or Landscape)

App Launch Orientation (Portrait or Landscape)

Configure a global setting to open applications in Portrait or Landscape mode upon initial launch and after resetting/relaunching the application from the taskbar.
This overwrites the default (Portrait).
  • Portrait
: Sized to pixel portrait mode
  • Landscape
: Sized to tablet landscape mode
If the application is running when the Application Launch Orientation Mode configuration is applied, it persists with the previous launch mode until it is reset and relaunched from the taskbar. If the application is closed when the Application Launch Orientation Mode configuration is applied, it opens the application in the orientation defined in the configuration.
The Application Launch Orientation Mode configuration applies to applications that open in a secondary display. This feature does not apply to mobile applications.
If you launch an application on the mobile device in portrait mode while the orientation mode in the administrator configuration is set to landscape and move it to the secondary display, the orientation mode uses the default setting in the administrator configuration—landscape.
If you launch an application on the secondary display while the orientation mode set in the administrator configuration is set to landscape and then move it to the device – it is in portrait (full screen) while on the device. If you move it back to the secondary display, it reverts to the default setting in the administrator configuration – landscape.
App launch orientation
This setting does not apply if the user resizes the application window.
App Launch parameters are reset when any Android configuration change such as Resolution, Orientation, Density, or App Launch Orientation Mode is applied either in the UI or Admin configuration.
For example, launch an app from the ZWC desktop, manually apply a full screen, then close the app. Apply a ZWC admin configuration with a Desktop Resolution/Orientation change. Undock and dock the device and re-launch the same app from the desktop. The app opens in Pixel Portrait size, but not in full screen.
