Secure Mass Deployment of Managed Configurations

Secure Mass Deployment of Managed Configurations

Zebra Workstation Connect supports the secure mass deployment of managed configuration files using a JSON file delivered by Storage Secure Manager (SSM). Configuration files are deployed using StageNow or programmatically within your application.
The JSON configuration file name must be workstation_connect_config.txt and placed in the /enterprise/usr or /data/tmp/public paths only.
Use the process outlined in StageNow to push the configuration file to these two locations. If you are using an EMM, follow the process specified by the EMM.
Create a configuration barcode using FileMgr in StageNow to inform the SSM to deliver the JSON file from the folder to Zebra Workstation Connect. Next, use StageNow to scan the configuration barcode.
Copying the managed configuration file from one folder to another is not supported.
For additional information on deploying managed configurations using StageNow or programmatically within your application, go to techdocs.zebra.com/ssm/1-1/guide/deploy/.
When persisting managed configurations across an Enterprise Reboot, it is recommended that you use the Zebra Workstation Connect configuration reset field. Do not persist the file using FileMgr.
When deploying Zebra Workstation Connect configurations in COPE mode (Work profile for mixed-use company-owned devices) using secure file deployment via SSM, enable the Persistence flag in the OEMConfig profile.
