Performing a Factory Reset Using a USB Drive

Initiate a Factory Reset using a USB drive.
Go to the Zebra Support & Downloads website at zebra.com/support and download the appropriate Factory Reset package to a host computer.
Do not remove the USB drive during a factory reset. Damage to the device can occur.
The USB drive must have FAT32 format.
  1. Copy the Factory Reset ZIP file to the root of a USB drive.
    • Copy the ZIP file to a USB drive using a host computer, and then install the USB drive into the device.
    • Connect the device (with a USB drive already installed) to the host computer, copy the ZIP file to the USB drive, and then disconnect the device from the host computer.
  2. Press and hold
    Power
    until the menu appears.
  3. Touch
    Restart
    .
  4. Press and hold
    P3
    until the Android Recovery screen appears.
  5. Press
    +
    and
    -
    to navigate to
    Apply upgrade from USB drive
    .
  6. Press
    Power
    .
  7. Press
    +
    and
    -
    to navigate to the System Update file.
  8. Press
    Power
    .
    The Factory Reset occurs, and then the device returns to the Recovery screen.
  9. Press
    Power
    to reboot the device.
