Selecting a 24V Power Supply

Zebra’s Fixed Industrial Scanner (FIS) and Machine Vision (MV) devices support a variety of input power sources. Designed to provide the integrator with flexibility, each connected Follower's power specifications must be considered when selecting a 24V DC power supply or combination of supplies for the Connectivity Gateway.
The input power required to support the devices should be determined in terms of a budget, with a fixed electrical current required for each supported device. Integrators should consult the scanner specification sheets available on zebra.com/support, for all follower devices connected as part of the Connectivity Gateway. Select a 24V DC Power Supply to provide sufficient current to handle all connected follower devices.
Below is a sample configuration for reference to understand how to size out a 24V DC Power Supply depending on the size of the Connectivity Gateway, the number of follower devices, and the follower type. The integrator should select two 24V DC power supplies to power the devices in the Connectivity Gateway, a supply capable of providing 5A and a supply capable of supplying 3.3A.
