Sending Results to the PLC Device

Configure the device to send scanning results to a PLC.
  1. Navigate to the
    Admin Settings
    screen from the left menu on the
    Home
    screen and click
    PLC Config
    .
  2. Click
    Results Tag
    on the
    PLC Configuration
    screen.
  3. Select the
    PLC
    from the menu and specify a
    Results Tag
    name.
  4. Click
    Apply
    .
  5. The
    Results Device
    and
    Results Tag
    at the top of the screen update to reflect the new results definition.
    The
    Results Tag
    must match a PLC tag of the same name. For Rockwell PLCs, it is required that the tag a
    STRING
    of length
    4096
    . For all other PLC types, the
    Results Tag
    should be a data block or starting register that has
    4096
    available bytes after it.
  6. Enable
    Output Via PLC
    on the
    PLC Configuration
    screen to allow the Connectivity Gateway to write incoming follower results to the
    Results Tag
    on the PLC.
    The
    Results Device
    must be active for the Connectivity Gateway to write follower results successfully. Start the PLC device from the
    Control PLC
    menu.
  7. After the configuration is complete, go to the
    Control PLC
    screen.
  8. Select the PLC device from the menu and click
    Start
    to begin sending results.
