Configuring the Number of Entries in the Database

The number of barcode entries in the database optimizes the device performance when removing duplicate barcodes from the results sent to the Host. It is the maximum number of barcodes you expect in the gateway field of view simultaneously and by the number of follower devices.

    .
To clear session data:
  • Navigate to the
    Home
screen and click the refresh icon next to the
    Session Data
    table.
To configure your session data database::
  • Navigate to the
    Home
    screen. Under the
    Session Data
menu, select the maximum number of entries in the database.
When the
Allow All
option is selected, there is no database size restriction. Selecting one barcode in the database is helpful in cases where a conveyor belt stops, and only one barcode is in the field of view.
Generally, select a number of database entries equal to or slightly above the number of followers. The number of entries in the database is the number of unique barcode results the system expects to store. When a new barcode result is acquired, it is compared to the existing barcodes in the database. If it is unique, it is sent to the host device.
