Firmware Management

Update reader firmware on up to 20 devices of the same type simultaneously.
Go to zebra.com/support to download the latest device firmware.
  1. Select the checkbox of the device(s) and click
    Update Firmware
    .
  2. Click
    Browse
     to select the firmware version to enable on the device.

The progress bar next to the associated reader indicates the completion percentage of the firmware update.
Firmware update
The user must enter the password to update the firmware using an encrypted Giga-DAT file (.EDAT file). This applies to RFD40 and RFD90 devices. When asked to log in to the device, it indicates that only users with administrative privileges can perform a firmware update. Go to

Select the Reader
Login
 to log in and update firmware.
