RFID Scanning

RFID Scanning

The

DS8208

R and

DS8288

R contain an integrated ultra-high frequency radio frequency identification (UHF RFID) reader/writer. This section describes how to scan RFID tags and includes RFID-specific parameters.

Before you can begin scanning RFID tags, review the following important information:

The RFID reader cannot
operate until you configure the Region of Operation. Scan a Region of Operation barcode or configure using a tool such as 123Scan. Select the region in which you will use the scanner.

The handle of the scanner may feel warm after extended RFID use. This is normal and does not indicate a problem.

The scanner is able to read RFID tags omnidirectionally, but you have optimal performance when the tag is in front of the scanner.
