Manual NFC Connection Setup

The following procedure outlines the steps to manually connect the printer using NFC.
If your printer fails to connect at any time and an error message appears, follow the guidance provided in the message to resolve the issue.
  1. Launch the Printer Setup Utility application on your device.
  2. Tap
    Connect New Printer
    .
  3. Tap
    NFC
    .
    If you are unable to connect to your printer, try putting your printer in Limited Pairing Mode:
    Limited Pairing Mode applies to printers running Link-OS 6 and later.
    1. Press and hold printer feed icon image
      FEED
      until either the Bluetooth/Bluetooth Low Energy icon or the data light flashes.
      This puts the printer in a discoverable mode.
    2. Tap your device’s NFC location against the Print Touch icon on the printer.
  4. On the Tap NFC Icon screen, tap the
    NFC
    icon.
    The application searches for available printers.
  5. Based on your connection:
    If your connection is by...
    Then...
    Network
    Follow the prompts until you reach the Diagnostic mode prompt, and then tap
    Disable
    .
    Bluetooth (First time and unpaired)
    Tap
    Pair
    to connect the devices.
    If your device's Bluetooth was off, tap
    Allow
    at the prompt, and then tap
    Pair
    on the next screen.
    Bluetooth (Previously paired)
    The pairing will establish the connection automatically.
The printer dashboard displays.
