Setting
Description
Decode Strategy
Changes the variables to alter the balance of speed and performance.
  • Fast – prioritize speed over decode performance
  • Moderate - balanced
  • Exhaustive – prioritize decode performance over speed
Detection Method
Determine the preferred method for detecting the data:
  • Uniform - This setting uses a splatter pattern and is helpful when there is a lot of noise in the image and everything looks like the contrast. If you are looking for a more random pattern, favor the center a bit. This setting is helpful for noisy images.
  • Finder Pattern - This setting uses a contrast map that is helpful for findings patterns with little or no noise.
Allow Rectangular Codes
Allows the reading of 2D rectangular barcodes in addition to square 2D barcodes.
Expected Module Size (Pixels)
Defines the range (pixels) you expect a module to be in given barcodes to help increase read performance.
A module is the smallest divisible unit of a barcode; for 1D, typically the width of a single thin line; for 2D, the size of a pixel. This setting is used as general guidance to increase performance but is not a strict threshold.
